resources for Learning and support

So often it is challenging for parents to navigate the complex school district channels, or parent’s/caretakers may feel isolated, or there may not be access to the support that is needed for your student to thrive. Many of the parents in our alliance have access to a variety of culturally responsive resources to support student success. Our intention is to be a support and resource for Black parents to grow learning and to tap into the tools needed so our students can succeed. We work with educators, administrators, community leaders and organizations who are committed to Black student success. We tap into our network of resources to gain access to available tools and resources for families and freely share that information.

support FOR PARENTS AND CARETAKERS

We support parent advocacy to address inequities and disparities in public education. Our intention is to support the advocacy needs of parents/ caretakers and their students. We engage in a broad variety of projects and tactics designed to help parents understand school structures, their rights and ways to hold public schools accountable in providing high quality education and inclusive school environments.

Building Community

Successful outcomes happen within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure families have support. We facilitate safe spaces for Black parents and our allies to deepen relationships and build community. It takes a village…
